3rd Grade Teachers J This week : Reading –This week in reading we finished our unit on visualizing. Students focused on the main character Elizabeth, explaining what she is like and how she changes throughout the story. Writing – This week in writing we finished up our skills study of complete, compound, and complex sentences. Students will return to working on the process of editing their pieces for publishing to the final draft phase. Students worked with partners to proofread for spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Students can use dictionaries to help themselves at this point. In this new unit, students will explore how to classify and organize data. This week we focused on collecting data on Places We Like To… In this exercise, students wrote about favorite places they like to read, play and visit. Then we analyzed the data to look for patterns.
